Petsmart To Offer All-Natural Food Choices

All Petsmart stores will now carry Nature’s Variety pet foods, expanding the selection of natural pet foods the leading specialty pet retailer will offer. As of June 13, the independent natural pet food company will include two specific wholesome brands available in-store and online for pet owners.

Nature’s Variety developed their grain-free Instinct, “formulated to mirror your pet’s ideal ancestral diet” and holistic Prairie brand based on their philosophy that pets should eat how nature intended—with pure, high-quality, unaltered, safe raw foods that benefit their overall health and lifestyle. The company excludes ingredients that are commonly found in most pet food brands including, corn, soy, wheat, chemical preservatives, artificial colorings and flavors. All meats, including chicken, lamb, venison, and rabbit are free of growth hormones and antibiotics. By providing pet owners with nourishing formulas, the natural food company is “Empowering people to transform the lives of pets.” Whether customers choose the 100 percent grain-free, gluten-free Instinct Raw or the balanced blend found in Prairie, based on animal protein, whole grains, vegetables and fruits—pet owners can feel confident that their pet is eating the very best. By incorporating Nature’s Variety into their pet’s diet, pet owners report their dogs and cats experience increased energy and vitality, strong bones and teeth, healthy gums, healthy heart, better digestion, weight management, lean muscle mass, and healthier skin and vibrant coat. Petsmart customers can expect to see the new line on shelves, including kibble, cans, raw in frozen form and freeze dried, and an assortment of treats such as frozen chicken backs, beef bones, ham bones, lamb bones and turkey necks. All products are packaged in ready-to-eat forms, requiring no mixing or measuring—providing pet owners the convenience of serving foods quickly. 

Petsmart announced the soon-to-come introduction of Nature’s Variety to the company during the first quarter 2014 report in May. With consumables being the key traffic driver to stores, Petsmart declared that with the inclusion of new foods, special promotions, new marketing strategies and offering unbeatable prices, the company will focus this year on accelerating sales of consumables and increasing in-store visits.
