ShopperTrak RCT Provides Industry Leading Retail Intelligence Solutions To Crate Barrel
ShopperTrak RCT, the world's leading provider of retail intelligence solutions and services, today announced the installation of its in-store traffic counting technology solutions and related services into Crate and Barrel's nationwide chain of home furnishing stores.
Under the agreement, Crate and Barrel will install ShopperTrak's Orbit 5 retail traffic technology at the entranceways and in high volume traffic areas throughout each level of Crate and Barrel's 150-store chain. Additionally, the company will utilize ShopperTrak's suite of System Management Services (SMS) to process data culled from the Orbit 5 devices. SMS provides added value to the traffic analysis process by ensuring the integrity of traffic intelligence and providing multiple, customized options for the delivery of data.
According to Ed Rennemann, chief information officer and vice president of management information systems for Crate and Barrel, following a lengthy competitive search, Crate and Barrel ultimately chose ShopperTrak based on the accuracy of the company's traffic data.
"As any leading retailer that is always looking to improve, we did a thorough competitive analysis when trying to choose the best vendor to meet our traffic counting needs," Mr. Rennemann said. "Although we started with a fairly long list of potential vendors, ShopperTrak's ability to quickly deliver accurate traffic counts in three very different pilot stores made them the ideal partner for us." Mr. Rennemann continued: "This level of accuracy coupled with ShopperTrak's knowledge of the retail industry made our decision very clear."
"ShopperTrak's technology will provide us with the ability to more accurately monitor our key business practices, like scheduling labor to more effectively meet the traffic flow in our stores," said Mr. Rennemann.
ShopperTrak RCT's Orbit 5 intelligence system utilizes two on-board video sensors with high speed processing components to unobtrusively track customer movements. It provides the precise data on customer entrance and exit activity that allows retailers need to make strategic decisions necessary to improve store performance. The Orbit 5 technology features the ability to distinguish between incoming and outgoing traffic, and to count side-by-side traffic and groups of people. The technology's on-board video sensors also differentiate between adults and children and will not count shopping carts or strollers, ensuring the most accurate traffic count. Additionally, Orbit 5 time-stamps each record, enabling the breakdown of data into any desired time increment, including real time traffic information throughout a chain of stores.
"Partnering with a widely respected retailer like Crate and Barrel is ideal as traffic measurement and conversion rate have become key metrics that have become as critical as turning on the lights for retailers," said Bill Martin, co-founder of ShopperTrak. "Crate and Barrel wisely tested then compared every facet of our technology in their stores prior to selecting our services and this level of detail proves why the company remains at the forefront of today's retail industry."
To date, ShopperTrak now has more than 50,000 counting devices installed in 68 countries around the world. For more company information, please visit: www.shoppertrak.com
