Retail Planning And Forecasting: Goody's Family Clothing Improves Business Processes Using NSB Solutions
Goody's Family Clothing has selected NSB's Connected Retailer Assortment Planning and Allocation & Replenishment solutions to streamline operations throughout its 380-store chain. The acquisition will enable Goody's to benefit from proven systems that combine Chain and Store Planning, Assortment Planning, Allocation, Replenishment and Demand Forecasting while integrating their technology environment.
Goody's offers clothing, shoes, accessories, and gifts in family-style department stores throughout 21 states. Asked why they selected NSB as its new solution provider, Jay Scussel Goody's SVP of Management Information Systems, says, "Improving our assortment's depth and breadth relative to store fixtures and floorsets, is a key initiative for Goody's. After reviewing what NSB's solution suite offers for assortment planning and forecasting and assessing the level of integration capability they provide, we know we've made the right decision. With their 35 years helping fashion apparel retailers, Goody's is confident that NSB can help us leverage both advanced technology and best practices into our key processes."
"NSB spent a great deal of time evaluating Goody's requirements for their new system, and we are certain they have chosen the optimal solutions to meet their needs," says David Henning, NSB's Senior Vice-President of the Enterprise Business Unit. "We will continue to work with them as they integrate our products into their business to ensure that they are thoroughly satisfied with their choice and that it delivers the results they expect."

About Connected Retailer solutions from NSB
Connected Retailer Allocation & Replenishment allows retailers to allocate fashion and basic items directly to stores from the merchandising application. Allocation & Replenishment balances the major business drivers, including merchandise plans and sales activity in individual stores, by responding to sales history, current situations, and forecasted trends. Ultimately, Allocation & Replenishment ensures retailers avoid stock imbalances and out-of-stock conditions, resulting in increased sales with lower inventory levels, increased customer satisfaction, fewer forced markdowns, higher gross margins, and just-in-time replenishment. Allocation & Replenishment is written entirely in the powerful new Microsoft .NET technology.
Assortment Planning NSB's new Assortment Planning product is a visual tool for planning assortments. It allows buying and merchandising teams to define which products to purchase, what quantities to order, and where to send them. Assortment Planning allows easy comparison of the developing assortment against financial plan values for stock, sales, and receipts, aided by clear, graphical product representations. Planners are thus better able to determine the best mix of products for each grade of store and to build product ranges using simple drag-and-drop functionality, whereby the numbers are automatically updated as the mouse is moved over product pictures. And as an integrated component of the Connected Retailer suite, Assortment Planning automatically generates allocations, which can then be used to generate purchase orders.
