Retail Software: SofTechnics' 21st Annual Users Conference In Miami, FL Emphasizes Users Sharing Successes And Results
SofTechnics, a leading provider of retail item and price management software solutions, announced recently that its 21st Annual Users Conference held in Miami Beach, Florida, March 25-28, 2007, exceeded all expectations. "The knowledge, experience, and presentations by our user community, and the dedication and passion of our business partners made this conference a huge success," said Guy Dille, Global Business Unit Leader, Retail Software & Integration for Mettler-Toledo. The annual event brought together SofTechnics' retail customers, solution partners, and product experts. The conference focused on in-depth product sessions, solution forums, roundtable discussions, numerous peer networking opportunities, and informative industry experts to satisfy everyone's needs, and a lot of fun too.
The strength of the conference was in large part due to the quality of the keynote speakers:
Cary Mullen is an international keynote speaker, Olympian and World Cup Champion, and entrepreneur. Cary shared his "The Champion Within" experience taking the audience on an incredible run that left them energized.
Joe Skorupa, Group Editor-in-Chief, RIS News presented a fact-based picture of where the industry is currently investing in technology and where it is heading in the future. These exclusive findings and insights can be found in the soon-to-be-released 2007 Tech Trends Study.
Eric Eichensehr, President, Levitate Technologies, moderated a panel with representatives from ARTS, IBM and Microsoft on how Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) technologies and capabilities can help retailers remain competitive.
Deborah Pekala, DVP Inventory Control, The Bon Ton Stores, presented their approach to the Physical Inventory implementation despite multiple hardware and software configurations.
Alan B. Williams, Vice President, Applications Development, Ahold USA, assisted by Greg Rowe, Director, Business Development GS1 US, introduced GS1 DataBar at POS, an industry standard application technology for fresh and prepared food identification and printed coupons; manufacturer and store (Sunrise 2010).
In addition to significant presentations by key retailers and industry leaders, the SofTechnics 21st Annual Users Conference also conducted six industry and solution focused Workshops and three Roundtable sessions. A highlight of the conference was the Solution Partners Exhibit, which provided firsthand demonstrations of SofTechnics' ability to deliver complete retail solutions to complex business problems through strategic partnerships. Exhibiting retail solutions and services were: AccessVia, Agilysys, Avnet, Cornell-Mayo Associates, IBM, Microsoft, Mettler-Toledo, Motorola, O'Neil Printers, SAF-AG, Salient, Source Communications, Technisource, Wavelink, and Zebra Technologies.
"We believe the Annual Users Conference is an ideal opportunity for our customers, the SofTechnics team, and our business partners to share ideas, to network, and to meet with leading retail industry experts," said Guy Dille. "Based on feedback from attendees, speakers, and business partners, the conference exceeded their expectations. We achieved a good mix of education, peer networking and recreation, and addressed many of the key topics that all of us are facing in the competitive and rapidly changing world of retail."
