Retail Solutions: Agilence, Inc. Releases eVision Enterprise Edition

The Enterprise Edition extends the eVision feature set across an entire enterprise. The solution is vertical market agnostic, yet powerful enough to scale from a small regional collection of convenience stores to a Fortune 50 Retail Chain – or even the world's busiest roadway – the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.

Agilence, Inc., the leading provider of Event-based Video Analytics (eVA), releases the eVision Enterprise Edition, code name Hawkeye, after several installations and extensive, real-time testing. The Enterprise Edition extends surveillance, auditing and incident management capabilities across the enterprise. Features include inter-site filtering, consolidated inter-site views of images and data, and enterprise management of alarms and incidents. These capabilities allow users—via multiple network clients—to reduce costs by managing surveillance and/or auditing activities on a regional or centralized basis.

Bob Oberosler, Senior Vice President of Loss Prevention at Pathmark Stores stated, 'We are rolling out the Hawkeye surveillance system to the balance of our stores due to our positive experience with the initial test group. Pathmark has achieved substantial cost savings and efficiencies using Hawkeye without sacrificing any effectiveness from an auditing or monitoring perspective.

The initial testing results at Pathmark, a 141 store supermarket chain based in the northeast, has shown favorable inventory shrink reduction results, which is mainly due to the new system.

A robust analytics based, relational database-based reporting option provides an intelligent, comprehensive view of the enterprise, tracking trends and surfacing statistical correlations across multiple sites, and supporting the efficient allocation of scarce loss prevention and operational resources across the enterprise.

To make the eVision line of solutions easier to deploy, the Enterprise Edition centralizes installation and ongoing maintenance- putting faster, easier, less expensive and more complete software management and control capabilities into the hands of loss prevention, operations and IT department staff. And, applying maintenance patches and updates is easily done on an automated basis from a centralized command center./p>

President and CEO of Agilence, Inc., John Sullivan states that "We determined early in the process that by centralizing the auditing package and providing our customers with simultaneous, multi-site live and playback capabilities, we would help our customers further reduce inventory shrink while making their staff more productive." He went on to further claim that " … by grouping the sites according to investigative needs we would be able to achieve the results needed in order to improve our customers' net profits."
