RFID Reduces Jewelery Inventory Time From 3 hours To 10 Minutes

CopperSpiral RFID is dedicated to bringing about innovation in the field of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). It worked with jewelers and just launched a solution that reads hundreds of pieces of jewelery attached with RFID tags in seconds.

Jewelery companies have a special incentive to use RFID based inventory tracking. They spend multiple hours every day doing inventory when their shop could be open to customers. By saving all this time, they are not only saving on employee time but also selling more.

CopperSpiral RFID's solution works by attaching a small RFID tag to each item in the shop. A RFID reader can then read all the items in the shop at the click of the button. Some shop owners use a more visual way by scanning each tray of items. This method of RFID inventory takes about 10 minutes to do the entire store. However, it is still preferred to the manual counting of items which would takes hours.

"We are not a technically savvy company. However, this solution just makes sense. It has saved us countless hours!" said Sanjay Bafna of Deepam Jewellers,Bangalore, one of the early adopters of RFID.

The features of the solution include RFID Jewelry Tracking, Inventory Taking, Employee Assignment and invoice and sales reports.

"A few months back, our lead engineer couldn't enter a store close to his house and buy jewelry because they were doing inventory. So, we decided to work on the problem and our engineers came up with this solution." said Vinit Bhansali, Director of CopperSpiral RFID and the main idea man behind this initiative.
