Rogers Plus Outsources Business Community Management With Inovis

Inovis today announced that it has signed a contract with Rogers Plus. As part of the agreement, Inovis will provide supply chain communication to Rogers Plus on the Inovisworks Value Added Network (VAN).

Rogers Plus already relied on Inovis TrustedLink® System-i software application to manage certain supplier relationships. While Rogers Plus will continue to use the TrustedLink software, the company is augmenting that software with the Inovisworks platform to manage the secure movement of data and documents between the company and its suppliers. Inovisworks provides Rogers Plus with the ability to increase the adoption of EDI and other communications protocols with more of its suppliers but also more robust data archiving and research capabilities than the company's previous provider.

"We are proud to add Rogers Plus to our family of retailers that rely on Inovis to make sure that the hottest titles in movies and entertainment reach the shelves and consumers in a timely and cost-effective fashion," said Steve Cochran, chief marketing officer, Inovis. "Rogers Plus further strengthens Inovis' position in this core Canadian industry."

"We selected Inovis and Inovisworks for our go-forward VAN platform based on their rich set of features, competitive pricing and expansive archiving capabilities," said Francois Chevallier, vice president, Retail Systems, Rogers Plus. "In terms of archiving alone, Inovisworks will save us many hours of time we had to waste researching thanks to the easy access of up to 10 years of historical data."

With Inovisworks, companies and their partners have a single web portal at www.inovisworks.net to manage the movement of transactions across oftentimes complex and diverse communities, technology and support requirements. Inovisworks ensures high reliability through the Inovis Multienterprise Expert Service Hub (MESH) platform and Inovis Business Process Protection Services, four services that provide 99.995% availability by protecting data traffic quality, governance and security.

The Inovis VAN supports a wide range of data formats as well as connectivity, access, transport and security options. They include:

  • Data formats: EDI, XML, RosettaNet and EDI-INT
  • Connectivity: Internet, dial-up, frame relay and leased lines
  • Access: Event-driven and store-and-forward mailbox capabilities
  • Transport: HTTP, FTP and SMTP
  • Security: SSL, S/MIME, IPSEC, VPN and PGP

Inovis' Business Community Management (BCM) creates a comprehensive view of a supply chain by integrating the technology, business processes and communication of the entire business community. By standardizing the technology and business community communication, Inovis helps companies better manage the supply chains and create sustainable value through three key avenues: increasing end-to-end visibility, reducing business-to-business complexity and automating entire trading communities.
