Saddle Creek Opens Facility In Birmingham, Ala

Strategic move helps to control customer’s transportation costs

Lakeland, Fla. – Saddle Creek Logistics Services announced today that the company is expanding its nationwide network with a new facility in Birmingham, Ala. Saddle Creek is investing in the new space to help one of the company’s existing customers, a wine logistics company, to better control its transportation costs.

Saddle Creek will move the customer’s operations from Atlanta to Birmingham, Ala. The new dedicated operation will be housed in a 225,000-square-foot facility with food-grade, climate-controlled space and rail service. The distribution center will be fully operational by Feb. 1.

“We continually seek out opportunities to better serve our customers’ needs,” said Tom Patterson, Saddle Creek senior vice president, warehouse operations. “Analysis of this customer’s operations indicated an opportunity for savings on transportation. By relocating their distribution center, we can help them to better control inbound freight costs.”
