SAS Retail Executive Joins TradeStone Board Of Directors

TradeStone Software, the retail industry's leading provider of private label and global sourcing solutions, recently announced that SAS Retail Executive Lori Schafer has joined TradeStone's Board of Directors. Schafer is currently the Executive Advisor to SAS Institute's Global Retail Practice and also serves on the board of directors of several retail and technology companies. Schafer will provide strategic guidance as TradeStone continues to expand its growing dominance in the global retail market.

Prior to her tenure at SAS, Schafer served as Chairman and CEO of Marketmax, a software company specializing in retail merchandising and revenue optimization solutions. During her tenure as CEO, she built the company into a recognized leader in merchandising analytics solutions, serving many of the industry's largest and most recognized retailers. Seven years later, Schafer orchestrated the successful strategic acquisition of Marketmax, to SAS in 2003.

Ms. Schafer has more than 20 years experience in consumer goods, retail and technology. Prior to her current position at SAS, Schafer served as the Vice President, Global Retail Practice and President, Marketmax, a Division of SAS. Schafer began her career at The Procter & Gamble Company and then spent time as a consultant to some of the nation's top retailers. She currently serves on the boards of A.C. Moore, eFashion Solutions, Trans World Entertainment Corporation and geoVue, Inc. where she is Chairman.

"I've known Lori for many years and have always admired how she first built Marketmax, then worked to make SAS, a powerhouse in the retail industry," said Sue Welch, CEO, TradeStone Software. "I look forward to her bringing the same expertise and drive to TradeStone. As we continue to grow and sign more customers in the Americas and abroad, Lori's addition to the board will bring us a wealth of insight, operational expertise and business opportunities. We are absolutely thrilled to welcome her into the TradeStone family."

"I've been an admirer of the team at TradeStone for quite some time," said Schafer. "Given the outstanding reputation of Sue Welch and her team, I'm not surprised that the innovative software they put together is being embraced so enthusiastically right now among retailers. I am excited to be bringing my expertise to TradeStone and look forward to working with the executive team to continue to scale TradeStone into a global software entity."
