Any retailer that makes its own cash deposits knows that security and integrity issues, as well as missing monies, are constant concerns, especially if the proper policies and procedures and loss prevention technologies aren't in place. ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, the country's largest privately owned liquor store, operates 156 locations and generates more than $500M in sales. Louis DeFalco, corporate director of safety, security, and investigations there, joined the company at a time when VCRs and two cameras per store were used to thwart theft. DeFalco knew that in order to improve companywide cash handling, as well as employee and customer safety, he'd need to introduce new forms of LP technology.
