Guest Column: Linux For Retailers: The Operating System That Keeps Giving

For the first time in a number of years, the 2010 holiday season showed signs of improvement for retailers and consumers as the economy continued to creep back to life. Not only did retailers meet forecasts from industry and financial groups alike, but many of them exceeded these goals, causing revised forecasts to be developed at the last minute. Not that retail watchdogs minded. Since entering the recession back in 2006, many retailers have been disappointed by the holiday season as sales slumped and forecasts went unmet.
