Research & Trends: C3I: Its Time Has Come In Retail

Source: Innovative Retail Technologies

By King Rogers, King Rogers Group

C3I is a term used frequently by the Department of Defense or in law enforcement, most particularly in the federal environment. It stands for command, control, communications, and intelligence. A friend of mine, who at one time was the CIO of the U.S. Air Force and then was the CIO of the Department of Defense, also served as Assistant Secretary of Defense and had the responsibility in that position for C3I. Among the agencies that reported up to him were the Defense Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency, both of which provide critical intelligence services to our military and for the protection of our nation.
