Case Study: Kiosks Bridge The Channel Gap

Source: Innovative Retail Technologies

By Matt Pillar, Integrated Solutions For Retailers magazine

Back in 2007, entrepreneur Sharon Kan founded Tikatok.com (www.tikatok.com), an interactive website where children and parents can create and publish their own books. The vision for Tikatok was fueled by Kan's desire to help kids exercise their creativity during their formative years; the platform is targeted at kids aged 5-12, the window of time that Kan says is best to prompt kids to use their imagination and creativity to write a story. Using the site's online bookmaker, parents and children can write and illustrate stories for free, then order eBooks or professionally bound hard- or softcover books, which are shipped directly to their homes.
