CSR: A Long-Term Sourcing Strategy Not A Response To Bad Publicity

Vision SCM monitors and manages a vendor's rating based on a series of predefined qualifiers. These qualifiers range across seven categories: Physical Plant, Corporate Profile, Human Resources, Environmental Policy, Certification Information, Domain Knowledge and Inspection Procedures.

The benefits received through lower cost production are weighed by the responsibilities of a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program. Organizations are being pressured to investigate and become accountable for their production points around the world. This has mandated them to engage with external parties and partners to develop, agree on, and implement processes to ensure that they meet regulatory demands. A major incentive to wholesalers, manufacturers and retailers is the protection of their reputation and brands.
