Sports Authority Announces Grand Opening Of First Puerto Rico Location

Sports Authority, one of the nation’s largest full-line sporting goods retailers, recently announced the grand opening of its first location in Ponce, Puerto Rico on Saturday, October 19. The 35,000 square-foot store opened at 8AM and is located in Plaza del Caribe. The Ponce location features an intuitive new format, making it easier than ever for customers to find exactly what they need. With specialty sport shops and a spacious new layout, the store has been designed specifically to enhance the shopping experience.

Sports Authority is the premiere store for all things sporting good, and is dedicated to providing customers with great values and great brands, such as Nike, adidas, Puma, Columbia and more.

Sports Authority has hired over 70 employees for the Ponce store. The company looks forward to expanding their hiring efforts next year in San Juan to support the opening of two additional stores.
