The proliferation of intelligent IP surveillance technology has dramatically improved the LP department's ability to monitor stores and DCs. That said, you're foolish to cut security staff even with the "smartest" surveillance platform. I talked with Curt Kugler and Kris Vece of Security Resources about why ORC and incident response require store- and DC-level security staff.
