Star Micronics America, Inc., is proud to announce that its parent company, Star Micronics Co., Ltd., based in Shizuoka, Japan, has been ranked at #42 on the Nikkei 225 Index' list of the most stable companies headquartered in Japan. The current ranking at #42 reflects a significant 37 position jump compared to Star's ranking last year at #79. The Nikkei 225 is a stock market index for the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The ranking makes use of a proprietary system designed by Nikkei Digital Media Inc. called NEEDS-CASMA (Nikkei Economic Electronic Data System-Corporate Appraisal System by Multivariate Statistical Analysis).

The system analyzes companies based on four criteria: business size, profitability, financial stability and growth potential. The latest ranking covers 2,303 listed companies, excluding financial institutions and firms traded on stock markets for start-ups.
