The connected consumer has caused not only a shift in focus from traditional brick-and-mortar establishments to digital, online channels, but also a shift in power. Today, consumers are often more informed than store employees and have become accustomed to around-the-clock access to information. With more details than ever before at their fingertips, they are less patient and more apt to move on if their needs are not immediately met.
