TOSHIBA TEC Introduces "Slim Signage," A Lightweight Signage System With Built-In Video Player
Compact signage with built-in video player that is lightweight and slim
Can be used as a single unit or in combination with a maximum of 18 units for various information signage applications
Video contents can be synchronized when using multiple units
Tokyo -TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION (TOKYO: 6588) launches “Slim Signage,” a slim and compact digital signage display system that has a built-in video player and can be placed on store shelves and other locations.
Digital signage is the electronic signboards used in stations, retail stores and other locations to display advertisements and other information. The market and range of applications for digital signage has expanded in recent years.
Each “Slim Signage” unit is comprised of three display panels, and a maximum of 18 units can be combined for use in vertical or horizontal applications. Therefore “Slim Signage” can be used flexibly in a wide range of locations by customers to match their specific needs. Also unlike many digital signage systems which require an external video player, the cost of introduction can be reduced because the player is built into the digital signage unit itself.
“Slim Signage” can be placed in tight spaces that had previously been considered to be dead space including product shelves to carry various product information designed to promote sales. “Slim Signage” is also ideal for use as information signage at information counters and amusement parks.
General Manager, Toshihiko Minato, of TOSHIBA TEC’s Marketing and Solution Division of Global Solutions Business Group states that “Slim Signage can be used to display moving images to graphically explain products to customers that match the conditions at the point of sales. Unlike traditional methods such as printed POP marketing information, more unique and innovative marketing information can be displayed using new paperless POP methods to entice customers into making a purchase.” Furthermore Toshihiko Minato adds that “the retailer can easily and frequently update sales information in real-time by merely changing the electronic media, thereby reducing the cost and burden of implementing new product marketing campaigns.”
The specialized software provided along with “Slim Signage” allows retailers to convert images and add still images, as well as to determine the order and number of times they want to playback their information. Contents can be changed simply by using an SD card, in addition to the ability to update data using the wireless network function.
