UTC RETAIL Introduces 3170 POS Touchscreen Workstation

New features translate to a POS terminal that is more “green” and cost efficient

The 3170 is UTC RETAIL’s latest offering within the 3100 family of all-in-one touch terminals.

For example, the unit provides significantly more processing power than the previous generation model, but consumes less power, which provides additional cost savings to our customers.”

Designed with the latest electronics, including an Intel® Pentium® Dual Core 2.9 GHz processor, the 3170 has a new thin, flat LED backlight touch monitor, which provides a sleeker look and is mercury free. The true flat touch screen is also easier to clean than typical plastic bezel touch screens. The unit is also significantly quieter than its predecessor.

The unit has numerous connectivity options, such as four serial ports, five USB ports, one cash drawer port, one powered printer port and one PS/2 port. Additional options for the 3170 include an integrated 3-track MSR, integrated customer display, wireless capabilities, dual hard drives and RAID. With all these options and new features, the 3170 platform provides retailers with a lot of flexibility, along with a lower total cost of ownership.
