For some, the time to convert central station monitoring comes when a retailer realizes that a supplier's failing level of service has progressed from one or two scattered incidents to become a serious chronic condition. This is reflected in consistently poor experiences with service after the installations, lack of communication and follow-up, and ineffective alarm reporting capabilities. This results in excessive return trips to rectify oftentimes simple problems and finally, unnecessary false alarms and dispatches.
For a few, the time comes when they realize that in-house proprietary monitoring services have become a luxury in these economic times. That includes the costs associated with managing a nationwide alarm license and permit compliance program.
