Many retail software vendors are developing mobile solutions to enable more efficient deployment of in-store technologies and to help retailers keep store managers out of the back office. Considering the time investment managers devote to staffing and WFM, vendors of WFM software solutions are no exception. Hosted WFM software solutions are also gaining popularity. To get some insight into the advantages of these new approaches to WFM and how retailers are maintaining adequate staffing levels in a lousy economy, I talked with John Russo, senior director of product management and solution marketing at Infor.
