Yourcegid Retail Triumphs In Asia: Cegid Wins The 2013 Retail Innovation Award For The Best POS Solution* And Strengthens Its Position In The Region

Cegid has won the Retail Innovation Award in Hong Kong in the “best Store Front Solution – Integrated POS Software” category for its Yourcegid Retail solution. This award comes just a little over one month after the close of the Retail Asia Expo held June 4-6, 2013 in Hong Kong, where Cegid, a software provider with international expertise, presented its latest innovations in the areas of mobility, omnichannel and store management to the world’s leading speciality retailers.

Cegid, an international enterprise management and vertical software provider, is one of the official winners of the 2013 Retail Innovation Awards. Held in Hong Kong and organized by the magazines Retail in Asia and Retail Tech Innovation (owned by Questex Asia), the Retail Innovation Awards showcase the best solutions and technologies dedicated to retailing in Asia.

Capping a month of voting by Retail market professionals and experts from around the world as well as the readers of the magazines that organized the event, the first Retail Innovation Awards competition resulted in honours for 17 innovative Retail solutions from three categories: front office, back office and marketing innovations.

The Yourcegid Retail solution, dedicated to store and merchandising management, was elected best POS management solution in the front office category. Present in Asia for six years (2007 in China, 2008 in Japan), Cegid attended the official awards ceremony on June 25 in Hong Kong.

This award not only constitutes recognition for Cegid and the Yourcegid Retail portfolio from retail professionals worldwide, but also demonstrates Cegid’s local expertise and reach. Some of Yourcegid Retail’s users in Asia include L’Occitane en Provence, Longchamp, Ted Baker, Lacoste, Arche, and Orchestra.

Cegid has also confirmed its ability to develop localized solutions catered to the needs of the Asian market.

“Asia is particularly well-known for its advanced CRM and loyalty programs. In Japan, for example, there are easily 20 different means of electronic payment outside of traditional bank cards. In Taiwan, the GUI (Government Uniform Invoice) requires retailers to print a lottery number on cash register receipts!” explained Sylvain Jauze, Cegid’s Director of International Operations.

Cegid’s presence at Retail Asia Expo boosts its profile on the Asian market

Retail Asia Expo was also an opportunity for Cegid to share its IT globalization and localization expertise, by presenting the other new developments of Yourcegid Retail, which focused on the following major themes: store management, Omnichannel merchandising, point of sale management, CRM & loyalty, inventory and replenishment optimization, international expertise and best practices, and localizations.

On June 5, Cegid also hosted a presentation entitled, “Omnichannel, Digital, Social Mobile: trends, strategies and execution”.
