ZBD Strengthens Management Team With Respected Retail Specialist
ZBD has confirmed that Jann Naef has joined the company as Product Marketing Director and assumes overall responsibility for defining and delivering the product roadmap for the retail division in addition to identifying and exploiting further vertical markets.
An experienced retail IT practitioner, Jann has previously worked for a UK RDBMS vendor, specialising in designing and delivering retail solutions in USA, Europe and the Far East through NCR and Fujitsu. Jann has also undertaken roles for Torex, PMC and a nationwide UK retailer with 700+ outlets.
As Managing Director of EKSI Limited, Jann undertook the first implementation of ESL (electronic shelf labels) in the UK which integrated with price decision-support software and provided improved in-store inventory management. Jann undertook a management buyout of EKSI, raised investment and subsequently concluded a cash sale for the business in 2003.
With over 20 years' global retail experience, Jann's strengths lie heavily within the ESL (electronic shelf label) market, an area that ZBD is looking to attack aggressively in 2009. A number of customer projects are due for implementation in early 2009 with UK, European and US retailers.
Commenting on Jann's appointment, David Rogers, VP Sales & Marketing said, "We're thrilled to bring Jann on board at such an exciting time. We have expanded our epop product range to offer our retail customers a complete store solution for the first time. Jann has the drive and experience to capitalize on this and build our business on a global scale".
Jann said, "ZBD has gained a huge amount of traction in the market recently. There is huge potential for us as first generation ESL users look to upgrade their existing segment displays to a more cost-effective, less disruptive and graphically superior solution. I'm looking forward to developing and enhancing the ZBD range yet further still".
