Customer engagement is digital priority number one for omni-channel retailers. How are progressive retailers driving it?
This year’s forecast for retail tech and operations spending in 2016 (page 5) paints a clear picture of the merchant community’s desire to meet consumer expectations by creating a holistic brand experience. While that effort requires a bold move away from channel-specific thinking and investment, it also requires retailers to strategically leverage touch points outside the four walls of the store — most notably e-commerce systems. As the battle for consumer mindshare goes, always on and available everywhere e-commerce sites are the front lines.
