A single-source, real-time POS solution breathed new life into family-owned Dallas mainstay Levines Department Stores.
For more than 75 years, Levines Department Stores have been serving the communities surrounding Dallas with staples for the entire family. But back in 2005, the archaic POS system the company was running began to prove problematic. Batch processing limited the company’s inventory visibility, which in turn hampered its ability to react to market trends. Because the company was running disjointed systems, its accounting, POS, and inventory control processes were loosely tied together via inefficient manual intervention. It didn’t help that a lack of connectivity among its more remote stores forced the company to rely on distributing sales and inventory data via fax and mail.
