Walgreens' Store Of The Future Impresses At RAMP

Well, RAMP V has come and gone. It was important to keep the show going despite the loss of its founder and driving force, Melissa Morrissey. Her loss was evident throughout the conference, but everyone pushed on in her memory.

Some things not missing were the same great content and networking that attendees have become accustomed to. The event kicked off with a trip to one of Walgreens’ stores of the future. If you have not had a chance to visit one, there are about a dozen spread out across the U.S. This store was like no other Walgreens I have ever seen. First of all, it is two levels, with the first floor stocked entirely with consumables. The “up market” contains a Sushi bar, yes, a Sushi bar, a barista coffee bar, a fro-yo stand, an expanded grocery area, and a huge liquor selection. The company’s “up market” is focused on capturing that customer on the go who still wants something unique and fresh.
